As SVP, Associate General Counsel, Laura Michel leads Match Group’s global Tinder Legal Team. She joined Match Group in 2017 as the first in-house attorney dedicated to Tinder. Since then, she’s grown a diverse international team that provides holistic business-focused counsel and guidance relating to Tinder's worldwide business, product initiatives, and strategic goals.
Prior to joining Tinder, Laura was Associate General Counsel at ad-tech platform Rubicon Project (now Magnite), where she also helped build a team, and advised on all things commercial and tech legal. She previously served as an intellectual property associate at premiere IP firm Knobbe Martens.
Laura is passionate about fostering meaningful connections (both via the Tinder app and IRL), mentorship, team empowerment, and leading with authenticity. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Davis, receiving both degrees with honors. Laura is a mom to two young kids and an avid equestrian.
